Our Surgical Services Team is Putting their Best Foot Forward: Actually More than 3,000 Feet!

Fallbrook Hospital’s new contemporary 3,300 square foot surgery/endoscopy suite addition and advanced technology expands the capacity and capabilities to perform more sophisticated surgical procedures. 

The $15 million expansion and renovation, completed in December, 2008 includes three new operating rooms, a new endoscopy suite, eight preoperative rooms, two holding rooms, five remodeled postoperative rooms, and preoperative counseling space. 

Surgeons provide quality, skilled surgical expertise by specialty for both adults and children 18 months and older. General surgical services offered include, but are not limited to, laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, hernia repairs, appendectomies, and bowel surgeries. Colonoscopies, EGD’s and PEG tube placements are among the gastro-intestinal procedures provided.

The Center for Advanced Orthopedic Care at Fallbrook Hospital offers shoulder, hip, partial and total knee replacements, and repair of fractures and sports injuries. A new advanced non-narcotic pain relief system is now available for patients undergoing knee or shoulder replacements which provides for a more comfortable recovery without side effects.

Cataract removal surgery is offered, C-sections, hysterectomies, hysteroscopy and NaPro
surgery are includ ed in the OB/GYN services offered, and prostate surgery with green light
laser, kidney and bladder surgeries are among the urological services provided.

Several contemporary techniques are used that are minimally invasive and result in a quicker recovery such as the new procedure for varicose veins, the partial knee replacement and the balloon sinuplasty procedure for chronic sinusitis that is offered at the Center for Advanced Sinus Care at Fallbrook Hospital.  Procedures are also available for treatment of tonsillitis and sinusitis and the use of radio frequency procedures for treatment of nasal obstructions, sleep apnea and snoring.

The Outpatient Department provides extensive laboratory and pathology testing and an ambulatory surgery unit for same-day procedures and pain management.  

With the recent launch of the Center for Advanced Sinus Care, the Center for Advanced Orthopedic Care and the vascular surgery program in 2010, Fallbrook Hospital continues to introduce new and improved surgical services.
